This drabble is a standalone story related to Blood on the Beach, an upcoming Buzby Beach Murder Mystery.
Sheriff’s Department Detective Mark Langstrom sat on the porch of the house he shared with Buzby Beach Police Detective Niles Murphy, sipping on a cold beer and staring over the dunes at the ocean.
“Remember the shooting victim discovered in front of the mosque the morning of your amusement park murder?” Mark asked his friend. “I can’t believe the jury voted to acquit the mope. We had video evidence, forensic evidence, and eyewitness testimony.”
“Did they say why?” asked Niles.
“A couple of the jurors told the press that we lacked DNA evidence.”
“CSI affects juries in the worst ways.”
