Saturn’s Ice Moon
The USAF Temporal Investigations Agency wasn’t as thorough as they thought

This drabble is a sequel of sorts to the web novel Divergent Echoes.
Deep below the frozen surface of Enceladus, Saturn’s Ice Moon, a tiny globe barely 20 centimeters in diameter, the headquarters for the Conformists, received a signal from the inner of the solar system. Within milliseconds, its microreactor activated. Six similar globes situated center around this central globe received instructions along their nanocarbon-fiber tubes, and the microscopic nanobots within them stirred.
In the central globe, the cryogenically preserved positronic record of Lincoln Phillip’s consciousness awakened. It reached out to his partner.
“I am here, Lincoln,” Patricia responded.
“The last mission failed,” Lincoln said. “It’s time for us to begin again.”
